Rebirth Through Faith: My ReStart Journey

My name is Karen, though many know me as “Special K.” I am the founder of the ReStart Movement — a mission born not just from passion, but from pain, faith, and a divine calling.

Nineteen years ago, my world was shattered in a single night. During what was meant to be a simple date night, a tragic shooting spree took my husband’s life. In an instant, everything I knew was gone. Fear gripped me, depression and PTSD followed, and even the act of breathing felt impossible. Within one week, the weight of my grief showed on the outside as I dropped from 131 to 116 pounds.

But even in that dark pit of disperse, God met me there. When I could not see the way forward, I trusted that He was still at work, shaping a message out of my mess. What was meant to destroy me became the very soil where faith took root. Day by day, I learned to PRESS START and RESTART — leaning on God for every fragile step.

That’s why I call myself a ReStart Specialist. Because I know firsthand that no matter how broken life feels, God’s power to rebuild is always greater than our pain. He restores not just the body, but the mind and the soul.

Through the ReStart Movement, I now help others walk that same journey of renewal. By combining faith, fitness, whole foods, self-care, natural remedies, and supplements, I guide people to strengthen their health, reclaim their energy, and live in the fullness of who God created them to be.

The heartbeat of this movement is simple: physical wellness and spiritual strength are inseparable. When we align our health with our faith, we find healing, resilience, and the courage to step into our best selves.

I hold tightly to this promise from Scripture:

“For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory. While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.”
